In my experience the German-made version of this product is worth the extra money if you are using this to treat damaged skin (e.g., a bad sunburn or chemical burn, skin problems or to mitigate the effects of scarring) . I am not saying that the US version is a bad product and it is probably worth this amount . It might have something to do with where the Germans source their ingredients — but for whatever reason the German product is amazing for a variety of purposes not listed in this ad —whereas the US/Mexican versions seem to just be good for the type of things shown in this Amazon listing.
