Those PC's are most likely using RTX on though unlike this GTX 1650
No. I am shocked because that is a higher claim than an RX580 which is a better card across the board, and this is a maxq limited version with way weaker specs than the desktop version.

Good basic gaming laptop. Okay price but at $500 you this is what you will see every BF.

If at all possible hold out for a 1660 or better.

Last year I got a Acer Nitro 7 i7, 8gb, 512gb, 1660ti for $675. Better build quality, better CPU and a lot better GPU for not much more money.

Three years ago I got an HP with the same basic specs but a 1050ti for $480. Again this deal comes every year, not good, not bad but nothing amazing.

The GPU isn't acceptable in 2021 unless you play extremely old games.

Quote from cgigate :
GPU is not so good.
It is not current RTX 30xx, it is two generations old
just because a gpu isn't rtx 3000 doesn't make it bad. this is an entry level gpu and the laptop is priced accordingly.

temper your expectations and make sure your needs/wants would be met with this laptop before buying. if you're complaining that a $500 laptop has a 1650, you need a reality check.
Quote from ShillDeals :
I play mostly old games and I would still not buy a mobile 1650 with MaxQ; at this pricepoint I'd rather just get a PS5.
this laptop and ps5 are two very different devices, with the ability to play games being basically the only commonality. if you're shopping for the best gaming device with a $500 budget, yeah you should stick to consoles. your comment is irrelevant.

This would be towards the bottom of gaming laptops for today's specs. But definitely a nice work from home/remote desktop setup at this price. I had a roll out project earlier this year for a corporation that was scrambling for new laptops and purchased a bunch of Acer Nitros through Best Buy. It's pretty much the same specs as this guy, and they paid the same price as the current clearance price ($650).

I still have that same exact Acer from last year. There were three 1650 laptops last year for $420-$450 including one with a Ryzen and none of them were Max Q as far as I remember.

It has room for windows and 1 game. Why is 256gb still acceptable? Laptops of 4 years ago had 500gb standard if not 1tb.

LOL. The CPU is JUNK. Normally you'd get a 4600/5600h at this price like last year. Useless Intel with 2hr battery life. GPU is a joke at this point.
https://us.msi.com/Laptop/GF63-Th...X/Overview 7 hour mixed battery life, 4-5 hours gaming. Battery life is more than fine. Also nobody games on laptops for more than a few hours if they arent plugged in, so nobody really cares.

Also if youre going to recommend a 5600h+GPU laptop, go ahead and post one for $500. You cant. In the entire history of slickdeals a 5600h+GPU has only been $600 ($100 more) once, every other listing is $700+. The 4600h was discontinued, there have only been a few listings this year.

Sooo… with the way GPU prices are, a 1650 runs $380-$420 depending on where you buy it. You must be a snob or just plain idiotic.
