Not really if your purpose to have just WiFi/smart switch functionality. You can install this at one place and leave the other one as regular so you can use both switches as a manual control but now at least you have smart WiFi control through app and Google/Alexa other integration as well.

Yep they can be wired in a normal setup.

Nope I have mine setup in this way. It "senses" when the dumb switch is used.

No, we have it setup like this and it works fine regardless of the position of the switch.
