They need to fresh the cube with better hardware specs.

With the Cube, most if not all of 60 FPS content gets horrible frame drops. That includes 1080p60 and 720p60. Engineering has been working to figure out a solution with none in sight yet. You are better off with a Fire Stick, Fire Stick 4k, or built-in TV app which do not have this issue.
Most channels and content stream at 30fps which isn't a problem. But most sports and some content do actually stream at 60 frames a second.
I usually don't use search in firetv. I'm traveling, will try it when go back home next week.

Try SmartTube Next beta. The built in adblock alone is worth the switch
I was referring to YouTube TV actually. Live TV, not regular youtube
The gigabit connection is almost irrelevant for streaming, but for in home console remote play (Moonlight, SteamLink, nVidia Game Stream) it's a big benefit. Do you need 1000 Mbps? No, but if you can get 40-50 more than 100 then that's a huge benefit. Even for streaming from the internet really. Going from a max of 100 to 150 is a big jump, however, it's more likely that you'd go from 100 to 300-400. I have gigabit service from my ISP and would benefit (and do benefit) greatly from a gigabit ethernet option on the Fire Cube.
OK that being said. I got mine yesterday and all of the people in this thread crapping on this device, calling it slow, have no idea what they're talking about. I see, "replace it with an Apple TV" and I can't disagree with that sentiment more. I literally replaced an Apple TV 4k (previous gen, still about as powerful as the newest gen) and I can't imagine going back to the AppleTV. The AppleTV is not nearly as snappy and the controller doesn't always respond how you want it to. The touchpad is so finicky and the options you have with an AppleTV over the Android based FireTV OS is just abysmal. Game streaming to the AppleTV was really frustrating and it never worked how you would think it should.
I am super happy with the FireTV Cube honestly. I do prefer the Shield Pro I have in another room, and AndroidTV overall, but the Fire Cube is very snappy and responsive. I have no idea what people are talking about when they say it's slow. With the caveat that I turned off autoplay of videos and audio in the settings. I wonder if that's the reason some people are experiencing slowdown.

"You qualify for a special offer: A 20% promotional credit toward a new qualifying Fire TV device is available in your Amazon account. The credit will be applied automatically once you shop for and add the qualifying device to your cart."
When this offer first appeared, if you were trading in a Fire product, you could use the 20% off immediately. When I decided to exchange my old Apple TV the 20% off did not appear for me. I contacted Amazon and after several times going back and forth they give me 20% when I placed the order.
Get this which will get you higher speeds wired. Alleviated all slowdown with Moonlight and I even paid for a PlayStation remote play app (PS Play) that works amazingly with my PS5.

I think most people wont even use it so... Honestly it would have made more sense to include a USB B/C port or something instead.
Edit: Added clarification that I would like a USB B/C port.

As others have said I see no reason to not go for the new 4k MAX stick over this. At least you won't have this fugly box sitting in front of your TV. The fact that Amazon is still using micro USB connections, doesn't have a built in ethernet adapter and the included ethernet dongle is only capable of 100 MBit speed is laughable.
