Got this last year for the same price with 10% cashback as well. Great soundbar, compared to the Q990D this does not have hdmi 2.1 support, dual rear stereo mode (if you have vizio soundbars you should know how this works) and another make to make voices louder in media. Besides that the specifications and dimensions of the soundbar, subwoofer are exactly the same.

If you have a Samsung TV from the past 2-3 years the soundbar will work along with the TV speakers to give you even more immersion.

Cons would be the inability to get full control over each channel, you cannot fully mute the center channel for example, atmos effects are quite weak even if you the largest satellite speaker stand, putting your streaming stick straight into the soundbar for direct audio pass through will give you a black screen for a second or two before playing.

These are speaker stands that I used :

You will need a larger speaker cable so you will need this as well : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K9SCDDL/

If you are adventurous you could do this modification for better atmos effects but this would obviously void your warranty : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9fUWxyO-Mo

I can post my equalizer settings in case anyone wants it but it's best to try out the soundbar for yourself first.

Hope this helps!
If you already have Q700B paired with rear speakers (swa-9500s), don't bother upgrading. I returned mine and kept q700b. Almost no difference. I got swa-9500s from BB for $100 local pickup deal a while back.
Hi OP Be cautious of using terms like mistake, glitch, error, etc when posting as they set off deal alerts

Excellent soundbar and sub combo. I've had mine for about a year. Solid well above average performer and supports Dolby Atmos. At a good price.

Had this for a few months and love it. Don't have the layout to space for a true surround setup so this is a great alternative.

It can get LOUD- if you want a soundbar with the ability to let your neighbor down the block hear your TV this is the one. The rears not needing to be wired to the sub makes cable management so easy.

How big of a upgrade this is in terms of sound quality from Q950A which I am using currently?

This was the biggest thing for me. I wasn't aware of a sound system that didn't require speakers to attach to the sub. I'm sure there are others, but this was a strong selling point for me.

I tried the JBL Bar 1300X which has rears that are truly wireless which was the main draw for me (the rears are battery powered and magnetically attach to the soundbar to charge). Figured I'd have them probably plugged in anyway vs recharging on the soundbar anyway so I preferred the Samsung. The JBL sub was also massive - was basically the size of an end table.

I upgraded from q950a and I think it is very noticeable. Cost like 200$ upgrade if you resell the 950a and for that its worth in my opinion. Sound is more "full".

That's a pretty cool concept, especially for those without power nearby. Thankfully, I do have power but want the sub up front so that worked out well. I picked up mine a week ago and like it a lot. Contacted Samsung and they already gave me a credit of the difference back of $100. Totally worth $700 in my opinion.

How does this compare to the Sony HT-Z9F? I'm thinking of upgrading.

Thx for the info, I have exactly the same setup as yours and was thinking about upgrading to q990c.
