I bought this on last deal around the same price. I thought the sound quality is 'just' ok from non-audiophile listener. I thought it would impress me with atmos and rear speakers vs standard tv speakers but it was just a little better. Maybe if I rock the volume to 70+ and shake the whole house then maybe it's worth the cost. As of now, my volume sits at 15(out of 100) Smilie maybe i'm just too old to appreciate it. Just my 2 cents.

Latest model is Q990D, I did the research and main difference is some 'AI feature' and HDMI 2.1

You really don't need to use the soundbar as HDMI hub and instead use your TV as hdmi hub (as it should be). I would save couple hundred and maybe use it toward nice rear speaker stand or something.

Im sorry but this system is far better than "just ok". It's better than any set of tv speakers and it's considered one of the best soundbars on the market. If you're not satisfied with it that's okay too but compared to Sonos and Bose this system holds its own considering the price. I actually like it more than Sonos, although the Sonos sub is next level.

I've had this for about 6 months now. Paid around the same price. It works well with my Sony A95H connected via E-arc. Used it with my Xbox too. Not having to deal with cables gives more room to experiment with the surround speaker placement. Gets too loud beyond 40/100 for me. Overall a great deal for the price.

Through the years SD had their audio bandwagoners of different brands.

First it was klipsch then it was Polk.

And I bought into it. And like you, I was underwhelmed with the sound quality considering all the hoopla.

Maybe I'm like you, the extra "quality" isn't worth the extra money.

Hahaha, something weird is going on with Samsung site. Whenever I try to go to the cart, it keeps redirecting me to ID.me site. Never had to do it before.

Yeah, I think I'm wrong target audience. I've set the volume similar to tv speakers and at that point.. maybe 30% better? I do get bass and rear a bit. I think these speakers tend to shine when it's at least volume 30+. If you're sensitive to loud volume then yeah.. it's not for you. Would I return it? No, I already set it up and too lazy to return.

Bought this as part of the last deal, I absolutely LOVE it!

Fair warning my first set had an issue with the sub woofer staying connected, I re-ordered a new set and sent the original back and the new one has been perfect.

I've seen comments from people that have both the D and C versions that have stated sound quality is noticeably better with the D. Apparently Samsung has done some tweaking to the new version. They did the same thing when going from B to C, and C sounded better than B. I have the C and it sounds great but I will be buying the D once it eventually drops in price to the $600-$700 range with EPP/EDU.

Is this applicable to Samsung employees internationally?

I got the sound bar and used the app to setup the speaker and tried the central at-6 and rear 2 speakers at +6 but I hear very low sound from the rear ones and the central one still had sound, is there a problem or I am doing something wrong?
