I am professional audio and video specialist. Weather conditions will effect your tv,regardless covered or not. Get ready for lot's of service calls. I suggest you to build case just let screen exposed. You will have better chance hopefully. Good luck.

Bought this for my office, for late-night TV viewing without waking up the kids. I ran the vegetable video, and mine has very minimal blooming. I compared it with my other two (much more expensive) TVs, and I don't see any differences in blooming worth mentioning. Certainly, nothing like the other guy's posted photos. I did tweak a few settings on the U6GR5: turned the brightness to normal, changed to color balance a bit to get rid of a bit of the green, and changed the contrast a little. The colors are good and the blacks too. I'm pretty happy with it. I have a fancy color calibrator that I use on all my TVs and monitors to make sure they look as good as possible. I haven't run it on this TV yet, but I'm not sure I even need to, since it looks good enough as-is.

ug6r is only 60hz, your archaic babble seems like you think it's 120hz

its good to have variable refresh rate in general, as its meant to prevent screen tearing when framerate drops lower than native refresh rate of 60fps, which can happen on graphically intense scenes of a game.

the better question is: how low of a framerate will the VRR still work? some of the cheap implementations are limited to a narrower range and thus not as useful.
If you have a good GPU that maintain over 60fps, best practice is to lock the frame rate at 60hz in game. That way VRR is unnecessary.

I heard that Roku had some sort of fallout with YouTube TV. Can I still watch YouTube TV on a Roku smart TV?
On my TCL Roku TV you can use it, but you have to go into the YouTube app first to access it.

Youtube and Roku are beefing right now. Google has said they will remove all YouTube apps from the Roku app store on Dec. 9, 2021. As long as you loaded them before that, you should be fine.

HBOMax was having a similar beef with Roku when they launched. Since Roku makes up over one-third of all American streaming devices, they eventually worked a deal out.

Just picked this up the 55 from Costco they had a bunch there in the queens my area. Saw that Best Buy has them also in 65 inch. TBH I think this tv is the actual best BLack Friday deal to be had.

Best Buy lists it as the same u6g tv but with Roku instead. It's a winner since I prefer Roku as the tv os and just ad a google tv box on anyway

I'd say yes. 60Hz is the main thing holding me back from buying this one.

Picked it up last night from my local store. Store employee said they just recently got it and have sold 15 or so and he hasn't heard of any returns yet.

I hooked it up last night and spent a couple hours on it.

First thing I noticed is how much faster the Roku experience is on this TV versus a 3 year old TCL Roku TV. Blazing fast.

The sound is very loud and feels like it is more forward facing on my TV stand than the old TCL TV. The stand is not against a wall so I wasn't getting audio reflection.

Colors are bright and vivid, everything looks crisp.

So far I'm very pleased with the television and love Costco's warranty and return policies. Recommended!

What are you going to do with your TCL TV?
I may return it eventually haven't finalized it yet. Side by side comparison does make U6GR5 stand a bit higher higher than TCL. I wouldn't say I see a huge difference. I am a non professional so I can only say based on YouTube videos. Blacks are much much better though in Hisense. Also sound is better too on Hisense.

What exactly does Costco warranty cover?
