Mintmobile.com just posted their early Black Friday deals.

They are letting you sign up for 3 months and get 3 months free. Thus, six months for the price of three months.
-------------------------------------

However, a deal I think looks good is:

Samsung Galaxy A12 smartphone (about a $179 value), 32GB storage.
+
24 Months of Mint Mobile service, unlimited talk text and 4GB of data monthly.
=
$180 (phone) + ($180 for 24 months, instead of just the normal 12 months, cell service)
=
$360 + taxes/fees= $415.14 which equals about $17.30 (includes taxes/fees) a month for cell service and the phone is basically for free;

The monthly price of $17.30, for 4GB data, is about half of what others charge (comparing to Cricket Wireless for example), not including the taxes/fess--- not to mention the free $180 Samsung smartphone.

(must activate phone within 45 days of receipt to get this deal).

The Galaxy A12 is definitely not worth $179, sorry.

Unfortunately T-Mobile reception is trash in my area. And most anywhere that isn't in the center of a city.
Not accurate at all. I travel for business from the West Coast to many States in the Mid West and South and T-Mo has been great with solid call quality and data. Maybe your phone does not have all the bands needed for T-Mo. Look at their map.

Meaning you fly. Which is exactly my point. It's garbage in the less built up areas between cities. Which is a problem if you break down. There are so many dead zones in the area I'm in that it's next to useless.

Maybe you should read posts before you comment.
Ohh, arrogance when pointed out you are wrong. Almost always driving. Again, look at their coverage map.
BTW, what city are you located in? I'm in Walnut Creek, CA

Good question, I do not know. But if not, you can get it unlocked after being on the service for a year.

What is "real" to you in California doesn't reflect my reality in the Northeast. There are tons of dead zones where TMO supposedly has "coverage." Along major thoroughfares. And it has nothing to do with my phone not having the bands. This isn't the early 2000s. Most major phones (Apple, Samsung, etc.) have plenty of coverage across the carriers.

I get plenty of coverage on a VZ MVNO which works quite well for me. There is a different universe outside of your bubble. Just remember that.
Not having band 71 is a thing, especially if you're using a phone that is unlocked from another carrier/MVNO that's not TMO based. Even with brand name phones like Samsung.

But on the topic of why people comment what they do on Slickdeals...there are areas that have good t-mobile coverage and areas with bad t-mobile coverage. Same with Verizon, AT&T. If everyone comes on Slickdeals and comments how their particular situation isn't served well by the particular MVNO that's being discussed, what value does that bring?

What kind of people starts slinging words like "universe" and "bubble" on a thread like this?

You didn't qualify this statement in your original comment "and most anywhere that isn't in the center of a city". You didn't mention the Northeast until two posts later. Guy was pointing out to you that there are places outside your bubble where service is good even outside the center of a city. Lol
