Mintmobile.com just posted their early Black Friday deals.
They are letting you sign up for 3 months and get 3 months free. Thus, six months for the price of three months.
-------------------------------------
However, a deal I think looks good is:
Samsung Galaxy A12 smartphone (about a $179 value), 32GB storage.
+
24 Months of Mint Mobile service, unlimited talk text and 4GB of data monthly.
=
$180 (phone) + ($180 for 24 months, instead of just the normal 12 months, cell service)
=
$360 + taxes/fees= $415.14 which equals about $17.30 (includes taxes/fees) a month for cell service and the phone is basically for free;
The monthly price of $17.30, for 4GB data, is about half of what others charge (comparing to Cricket Wireless for example), not including the taxes/fess--- not to mention the free $180 Samsung smartphone.
(must activate phone within 45 days of receipt to get this deal).

This is a mixed bag of a deal. I'd love to get 24 months for $180. That's $7.50 per month for 4GB monthly plan. The plan is a good deal. It's the same price as their 3-month promotion, but you can skip doing seven promotion signups. That's a lot of busy work you save.
But who wants to pay $180 for the Galaxy A12?! Recent deal for the Galaxy A51 was $90, and that came with a year of service on Tracfone. The A12 is like 40% slower than than the A51, worst screen resolution, and only 32GB vs 128GB. It's bad on all specs.
It's not a terrible overall deal. The phone can be free and the phone service can be $17 p/mo locked for 2 years
Ignoring the phone, you're paying $360 for 2 years of service. Their normal pricing for a year-long pre-paid plan for 4GB/month is $180.
Let me repeat. Any day of the week, you can prepay Mint $180 for a year of service at 4GB/month. That comes out to $15/month. That's everyday pricing.
With this deal, you get the honor of prepaying for TWO years of service...for twice the one year cost. $360. So that's the same $15/month cost.
In this thread, they got us distracted over including the cost of the shit phone and double counting the discount. They also make it hard to tell what their normal pre-paid prices are beyond the promotion.
NOT A GOOD DEAL. Also, their pricing transparency sucks.
Best networks for us were:
Verizon
Red Pocket AT&T
Mint
Verizon non-mvno was fast enough to stream spotify throughout the trip, except for some parts of Acadia National Park
Red Pocket AT&T was pretty good everywhere but generally had lower bars and speeds than Verizon
Mint was largely unusable in the parks. Was fine on most highways and in big cities but unusable on most mountain roads.
Back home in Southern CA, Mint wins on speed. Coverage is basically a tie. We just added a Visible line based on Verizon's performance on the trip and it is easily worst of all 4 in crowded areas in Orange County.
So, all this to say... Look at user reviews and speed tests for your area. Coverage maps are only part of the picture. Throttling and lack of roaming agreements on MVNOs play a role too. If you don't leave the city, Mint is fine, but in my situation I think Red Pocket AT&T is the best mix of price/quality

Remember: if you're not paying for it, you're the product.
BTW, what city are you located in? I'm in Walnut Creek, CA
Most of the carriers are upgrading their networks, especially with 5G deployment, but you need current technology in your phone to make use of expanded coverage.
A12 should be one of those things you get in a cereal box
