Looks like best for very light work. Lots of people wearing through the gloves. I'll pass.

I've had two different models of Mechanix and I was disappointed with the quality. Much prefer Firm Grip from HD. $8.xx isn't bad but don't expect them to last very long.

These look pretty good for light-duty. For sizing, I traced my hand on a piece of paper like a 4-year-old. I compared it to their chart and it actually worked pretty well.

I wonder if I have a weird hand. Lengthwise, it suggests a small, width wise suggests an XL.

My typical glove size is 1-2XL
I've never seen a chart that wants to measure near the top of my palm.

Definitely for light duty. Ever since Mechanix changed to synthetic leather for palm area for models such as Classic and FastFit. Their durability has gone down quite a bit...
Their other fancier models with real hide leather definitely last longer. (as they should with higher price tags.)

these things fall apart so fast... they're really not great if your doing any real work with them.

you can find synthetic leather from other manufacturers that is just as durable as your dead animals... just ain't cheap to do, since you can't have China skinning alive any animal they find on the street.

boots on the other hand... they're just not there yet unfortunately. i have a pair of leather-free Carhartt steal toes now, i doubt they'll last me two season of outdoor farm work.

These aren't bad for slip-ons vs the normal velcro Mechanix Wear. That said, I bought a 2 pack of these from Costco about a month or two ago (on a 0.97 clearance) for about $5 or $6. Surprisingly, at the time, they still had a bunch left at that price. YMMV, obviously.

From the Mechanix webpage:
Quote :
Intended Uses
Military
Law Enforcement
Shooting Sports
Maintenance & Repair
With that said, they're categorized as "work gloves" so even the manufacturer isn't really clear.

The FirmGrip gloves at Home Depot @ 3 for $18 are very good. No need to bother with these.
