Why does every phone deal require needing to sign up for some janky, second tier phone service then cancelling or something. The amount of weird contract loopholes in the phone biz game has gotten very old.

How long does it take to get the Walmart gift card? If you buy the phone online, can you pay the phone off immediately after getting the gift card and then cancel service? Thank you.

The earlier iPhone 13 trade-in promotions from Verizon & Apple required "Verizion Plan Unlimited" customers to change to one of their newer (more expensive) unlimited plans.

Is that the case with this Walmart gift card deal or can I activate the phone under my existing plan?

Bought online from Walmart. Phone from Walmart online was unlocked last year. You can try yr luck this year. Bought a used iphone from one of the reselling firms for $200 and traded it in at an At&t store after activating the phone with at&t. Now, phone is receiving credits over a 30 month period.
