As someone who has a pixel 6 Pro, I highly recommend just getting the 6. It's so much cheaper and the Pro has no features that are worth the pricetag over the non pro. If I could do it again, I'd get the pixel 6.

The phone is big on the hands and quite heavy. Be warned. You'll end up missing smaller phone size of 5.7to 6.2 inch screens

Nova launcher is immensely customizable, and I can't recommend it enough. You can move the stock Pixel launcher elements wherever you want, among MANY other options.

Is this an upgrade from a note 10 plus or a downgrade? Never owned a Google phone.

I just ordered this for 599 from Google. Will they honor the discount or should I refund?

I have a pro, and the 4x optical telephoto is amazing. You're obviously not wrong per se, it's your opinion, but the differences are notable:

6 Pro has a bigger screen, higher resolution, higher refresh rate, more ram, 4x optical zoom, bigger battery, 5g mmwave antennas... I feel like I'm probably missing one or two more things but that's close to it.

Especially with this sale I agree the price difference is starting to get quite large. It's up to the individual whether they value these things or not. But if you want the best telephoto lens in mobile phones, the pro is the only place to get it.

The battery being bigger doesn't equate to anything because it ends up using more power and all the tests I've seen show the P6 outlasting the pro. More memory is notable, but 8GB should be enough. The telephoto lens isn't worth the $300 imo.

Verizon mmwave is overrated. 1) you need a plan that covers it. If you're on the grandfathered unlimited plan, there is an extra cost for ultra wideband 5g and 2) mmwave (ultra wideband 5g) isn't practical for broad coverage. It works well in airports or stadiums, or parts of a city, but doesn't work even through fog or rain, or through buildings. So it's not going to be available nationwide. Ignore the fake maps Verizon shows, the coverage of mmwave 5g is very limited
Overrated? I guess you haven't experienced it yet. Mmwave is great! It doesn't matter it's not everywhere yet. I was in NYC waiting to meet up with a friend when I decided watch some YT videos to kill some time. To my astonishment, the videos all loaded instantaneously -zero load times including 4K high-resolution videos. If was if I was flipping channels on a television. My mind was blown in less than 10 mins of experiencing mmwave.

I came from a Samsung A71 5G and it's miles ahead of that on screen sensor. However, it is finicky at times and slow to register. 9 out of 10 times it opens quickly and without issue.
I currently have a Samsung a71 5g and kind of hate it because it's so large. I know the Pixel 6 is slightly smaller but it's it noticeably so in hand?

So, the Pixel 5a for $399, or the Pixel 6 for $549? Pros and cons anyone?
I upgraded from the 3 to the 6 on launch day, my major cons are the size, its really big, like uncomfortable to work with in my pocket big, and the fingerprint scanner does suck compared to the back scanner. I'm still not used to it. I will say apps seem faster, the camera is upgraded noticeably, and I get two days per charge and I am on it a lot. I'm going to use it till the 6A is released with a smaller size and gift this to my mother.

Pixel 6 on screen fingerprint reader is kind of finky for some. It takes half a second to unlock at times which is super annoying.
Google already said it has heightened security. So it takes longer

Interesting. I've got gig internet service at home and even on my desktop, YouTube isn't instantaneous.

I have a Pixel 4a 5g and love the fingerprint reader at the back. Much better than using it on the front. The speakers are fantastic and the feel of the phone is magic! OTOH, the Pixel 6 has a inscreen reader, is bulky. If you are not a camera enthusiast and takes selfies in the restrooms and everywhere else, go for the Pixel 5a.
Same. I plan to stick with my 4a5g until updates end or they offer a great trade in. I'm hoping for a smaller 6a phone with finger print reader on back.

There isn't a discount yet so why would they?

Why would Google sell a less capable/compatible variant at their online store domestically. If what you are saying is true, complete idiocy on their part imo. If both models are listed in the spec sheet on the store page, how do you know which one is being purchased? Is the Verizon option during the checkout the only one mmWave capable or both Verizon and GoogleFi?

I see the clarification chart, total nonsense. Thanks for the details.
Because mmwave is useless for most people.

Completely agree. I just switched from a Pixel 3a XL to a Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 is roughly the same size, but it is definitely heavier. This is not a small phone in the hand.
LMAO You sound like iPhone users... Stop it!! Peace

moving to the pixel 6 from my last 3 samsung phones is like night and day. Never switching back to samsung sluggish laggy bloat UI again.
