The price is not actually $15 per month but adds an additional $3.50 per month in fees and taxes. That said, it works great for me in Lancaster PA.

I feel like tethering (from phone) is throttled to death during the day.

I did get the 6 months , so good until Summer 22
So thats 3 old ones that have worked for the 6 months ,

I have a couple of basic questions and hope you guys can advice. I haven't powered the phone on yet. The Mint package says "Keep your number or get a new one".
Currently I have a landline (for voice and DSL), which I've had for 25 years, and eventually I am wanting to transfer the old landline number to my mobile - that way my friends don't need to know about a new number to call.
So, when I power up my phone for the first time w/ the Mint sim card, should I say "I want to keep my number", meaning my landline number? How long will it take for the landline number to be transferred to the Mint sim card (the landline is with Sonic)? If it takes several days, then I won't be able to use the mobile w/ Mint until then?
Or, should I say "get me a new number" when I fire up the phone w/ the Mint sim card? And that way be able to use the mobile right away with the new number. And eventually, soon, transfer the landline number to Mint?
I don't know how long I will stick with Mint and want to make sure if in the future I sign up with another network provider I will then be able to transfer over my number to the new provider, whether it is the Mint-assigned number or my old landline number I had transferred to Mint.
I think I have heard one can get a number at Google Voice or Google Fi which can be linked to my phone/phone number... Would it be smart to get a number at Google, link it to my phone, and give that Google number out to friends?

2. you need to port in your number when you activate your sim card. landline number to wireless service maybe take several days. you still can use your landline until your landline number ports out successfully. you also can use your mint mobile service, but I think they will give you a temp number first.
3. when you want to port your number out, you can chat with mint customer service, get your account number and pin. then you are ready to go.
4. if you want to get a google voice number, simply go to voice. google. com. sign in your google account, get a new number, then go to setting, link with your number. after verification, you will get transfer to yourblinked number if someone call your google voice number. you also can install google voice app in your smartphone to get call and text.

and most of the MVNO companies like Mint are downgraded when Tmobile has too much traffic.....
Ask around and see if ATT or Verizon are better in your area and find a MVNO that uses them !
