It can be any netflix account, if i remember correctly you get a link on your email for the credit and all you would do is click that link and sign in the with the netflix account for which you want the credit. I have purchased two and use it on a different Netflix account.
Chromecast has been the best i have used so far.

Can someone definitively answer this question? "Does Netflix account have to be under same email as you order with/Google?" since there is conflicting information in this thread.

My Netflix account is not my gmail.

It doesn't have to be the same. I did this and my Netflix account has a different email than my Google account.

Last year it had to be that exact Gmail account. I fought for 4 hours to get it fixed.

Yup 100%, I purchased the chromecast and used the netflix credit in a friend's account which both of us share together.
