The Ti is about 10% faster than the normal 3050.

Stack it with Amex Dell offer and you can't beat the value.

4GB VRAM is something to be aware of.

Can you point to any gaming laptop deals at similar price point with a brighter display?

OP, according to the site, this one doesn't have Thunderbolt.

"
Ports
For computers shipped with NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3050 and 3050 Ti
1 HiSpeed USB 2.0
1 HiSpeed USB 2.0 with PowerShare
1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port with DisplayPort with alt mode
1 SuperSpeed USB 3.2

For computers shipped with NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3060
1 USB 3.2 Gen 1
1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 with PowerShare
1 Thunderbolt 3/USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port with DisplayPort with alt mode"

If it did I would agree with the above poster, this is the one to get for a budget gaming laptop.. But it doesn't.

EDIT: This is STILL a pretty good deal, IMO. If it had Thunderbolt I think it would be an instabuy for me as it checks every other box for my needs. But I will keep shopping.

A slow and dim screen.. most likely would have ghosting trying to play any AAA titles.

Only 4gb VRAM.

This is fine for basic gaming that's it. Definitely no heavier productivity work like using Premiere.

According to Crucial this has 2 RAM slots. I couldn't find out if the 8gb in the configuration for this post is 4x2 or 8x1 setup... Anyone know?

It's definitely 2 slots that are not sodered in. I can't answer on the occupied slots though.

This is an entry level GPU. You're not going to get 6gb like a 2060/3060.
