Except you'll notice the in-warehouse prices of same items are anywhere from $5–10 more. You pay for shipping, it's just not itemized

Free it's nice, to bad they have horrible customer service compare to Costco.

I love the scan and go feature. Wish more stores did it. Scan the barcodes on the app while in the store, pay on the app and just show the QR code to the person at the exit. No need to waste time in line to check out.

My Sam's Club is pretty good with the curbside pickup too. Not all items are available to order online unfortunately. Example, Sam's website will show stuff as out of stock, but it will be available to buy in the store. Recently discovered that POM toilet paper [samsclub.com] had a limit of 1 per customer in the store, guessing that's why it wasn't an option to order on their website. Shipped items and in stock pickup items can vary in price too, so keep that in mind.

Oh, discovered Sam's sells a knock-off Chick-fil-A sandwich [samsclub.com] too. Pretty good. Might be in the store, even though it's out of stock online.

I'm a Goldstar member at Costco (the lowest tier) and almost everything on their website ships for free...

So yes, this is unique to Sam's Club.
Do you read the item page? It usually says shipping charges included in the price. Warehouse price may be lower.

Membership here doesn't even buy you free shipping on their website.

Disappointed.
Their "Plus" membership has free shipping

Thats the only way I pay there I signed up for Walmart plus so I could just scan and go since one day I went the lines were backed up I was disappointed it wasnt the same as Sams. At Walmart it lets you do everything the same way but you still need to wait in line to scan the QR code that the self checkout gives you to pay which I find is useless.

Agree 100%! I love the chicken sandwiches and nuggets. Both are excellent Chick-fil-a dupes when cooked in an air fryer. I buy most of my staple grocery items from Sam's on account of the curbside pickup. I go to Costco for new items I want to try, and other household stuff, since they offer more variety.

Most item price are jacked up on Costco with free shipping. Same price is cheaper in stores.

Look in the latest Valpak for a coupon for $45 e-gift card with 1 year membership.
The coupon expires at the end of December.
Valpak is those blue envelopes that show up once a month.

Or try this link which I think was in another thread here.

offer ends Jan. 31, 2022
The offer you mention - you pay $45, then get a $45 gift card, thus making the cost basically $0.
But with the offer in this slickdeal, you pay $30, receive a $45 eGiftcard (can be used at walmart too) after using scan-n-go, and a pie. So you are making $15 on this deal. Much better option, you come out $15 ahead plus a bonus pie. :-)

Definitely a money maker.
My mom was the person who bought the membership using the Valpak coupon.
She didn't want to risk spending money eg the Scan-N-Go and not get the $45 eGift card. She'd be out the $45 membership + the Scan-N-Go purchase.

Sam's prices are really creeping up. Their last quarter showed tons of growth in Sam's Club business so Walmart had blowout earnings. They are milking it for all it's worth.

Any item where you might have saved money is slowly disappearing from the store. The rest are increasing fast.

I know there is inflation, but Walmart can do better. If Kroger can offer sales in this tough environment, there is no reason Sam's prices should be higher or equal to theirs.

My membership is almost over for the year and I'm not sure I'm going to renew.

With no food court (it's always closed), no more cheap take home pizzas, tons of products that are no longer sold, and no time to wait in gas lines that are an hour long when my Kroger fuel points get me the same price.

Hard to see the value there.

So I signed up. Do they send me a card or do I just walk into Sams with my order #?

The email I got from Sams Club says " we are processing your order #xxxxxx and will email you when it ships". Further down the email it says "New Sams savings membership item 215 - $0.00" and "shipping - this item is not shippable" but it is "Shipment 1 of 1"??

Another money maker without bothering with Groupon and Scan-N-Go is buy a new membership through MyPoints.
You get 25000 points which is probably worth about $20 and the $45 eGift card.
I got this offer in an email from MyPoints.

Not for a current membership. Yet with my wife we go back and forth and each of us use alternates memberships when deals come up. So you would have to find a spouse, friend, or family member and be the alternative on their membership.
I've added my husband as additional household member. Does that count as existing customer?
