For what seems to be the overwhelming majority of current/previous owners, including myself, hell no.

I really want a new fridge but I am willing to pay more (significantly more) for something that is not made by Samsung!

What would you recommend? This size fits perfect in the small space in the kitchen I have.

I've had two bad Samsung washers. One was part of the recall when they were exploding and then the replacement died less than two years later. Replaced the washer and dryer with LG and those have been great so far. Consumer reports has favorable reviews on LG washer and dryers in general.

I also had a Samsung fridge and that had the common ice maker issue. This went on for years with Samsung over various models (check forums or the Facebook group if someone cares). It also didn't keep temp well. Food spoiled and things froze in other places. Infrared temp checks were all over the place.

I decided to replace that with a GE profile. That has worked out much better.

I used to buy all kinds of Samsung stuff but after throwing away over $5k on cheaply made appliance I don't recommend. Like anything else some people get bad luck with a brand and some good luck. For me I tell my story and let people decide.

I wonder why Costco is willing to push a crap brand like this for fridges.

Doubt any are any good. they're all overengineered for energy and things typical buyers want, indoor water, ice, dual zones, inverter compressors, looks, all = hit and miss, add in doors staying open too long, high humidity environments exasperates icing up.

But my old school kenmore top freezer, bottom fridge keeps humming along in a florida garage...it uses ice trays but i don't have to remove everything from the freezer and a drawer and crawl under with a hair dryer either lol.

Pick whatever looks right onsale, and invest in fridge/freezer alarms, they've saved me twice. Added bonus if you use echo or cams etc similiar with sound have them alert your phone for noise. Best setup is normal fridge and a chest freezer KISS....but gotta have something for looks in the kitchen...

I have had no problems with my Samsung. Going on 6 years now. I think every brand has their share of malfunctions. And the people that are the most vocal are the ones that have one that malfunctioned.

The only deal breaker for this is the fact that it doesn't have a water dispenser.

Many people seem to have good luck with Samsung, including who appears to be a paid shill below your post. I have personally had good luck with LG refrigerators yet many have not. With any major appliance we will likely hear more from those who've had poor experiences than those with good. Be that as it may, I'd rather use an igloo ice cooler to keep my food at temp than ever give Samsung another $1 for a refrigerator. Good luck

I own lots of samsung appliances and I never had issues. There are little maintenance that users have to do to keep them in good shape. But I wish this fridge have a water dispenser.

washers and dryers are completely different than say cell phones and refrigerators. I have Samsung washer and dryer and I think I'm somewhat lucky that they are all fine after almost 10 years. I've heard a lot of bad stories with Samsung fridge. I was told LG aren't any better. I'm in need of replacing my GE fridge. I'm reluctant to throw it away because I felt it could be repaired. The freezer compartment is too cold and freezes, which blocks the air to the rest of fridge making it useless. Usually when Samsung or LG fridge breaks down it is due to failure of compressor but it doesn't seem to be the case with mine.

The other thing I would recommend is getting some kind of protection program for your home that includes appliances. If something goes wrong, they fix it for free or replace it for free. I don't think these new appliances are as reliable as what they used to be making. My parents had a Kenmore fridge that only died after 35 years of use. I think you'd be really lucky if you can get 15 years out of anything now. My GE was only 6 years old when it had the problem I mentioned.
