Thanks OP! The gas version is also on sale for $1199.99, which I am considering purchasing. Anyone have an experience with these machines?

Have Samsungs improved their washers? I remember a few years back they had massive issues.

someone can correct me if im wrong, but you should get 2 years manufacturers and then another 2 through costco credit card, so total of 4 years.

this is what i assumed when just bought a dishwasher from them.

Where can one get a reliable basic washer and dryer that washes and dries without all the fancy electronic fad stuff that will break??

I don't think Costco Visa card gives additional two years warranty. You would have to buy all state warranty for 3 yrs.

I bought quite similar version of Samsung top load but it was just OK, takes too much water but wash still not good, if clothes/huge item bulk up at one place it continue to drain and refill I think three times until it throws its error, I wouldn't buy again similar one, I saw gas version with washer 5cubft set at 1000 at Costco but I decided not to too buy.

Top load machines use more water than front load washers, but front load washers are notorious for mold issues. I've read that Samsung makes great TVs and phones, but to steer clear of any large appliances like refrigerators, stoves, washing, and drying machines. Even with warranty, you still have to wait until the parts come in stock which can take weeks.

I usually get the top load with the largest capacity without all the fancy functions

Usually I wait for Lowe's clearance deal

Correct. Front load is known for the moldy issue around the rubber seal as users tend to close the door after use.

My LG top load is 10+ yrs so far so good

Saw them in local Costco, Bay Area. They are sold separately. The washer is lower than $500 in store. A Simple but working washer without fancy functions. I would buy it if my LG washer quits working.

Had the same front loader for 14 years and never had a mold issue. Just make sure you leave the door open when you're done.

I cannot speak for Samsung, but I've purchased LG higher end front load models available on 4 different occasions.

First batch we had for 2-years before selling them with the house. The washer had mold issues, but no electronics issues

Second batch we had for 7-years before selling them with the house. Absolutely no problems, nor mold issues.

Third batch we are currently still using and have been for 6-years. Only issue we have had is replacement of the pump under extended warranty. Units are in the basement and need to push up 8-feet and we probably average 14+ loads a week.

The fancy electronic items don't seem to give us any issues, but I am sure I have now cursed myself. It will probably be the 4th set I purchased during the crazy discount deal early this year. They are still sitting in the garage and when I get around to it will replace my existing, which will then move back to the pool so we don't need to lug the 20+ towels back to the house to be washed/dried everyday over Summer.

If you want a standard old style basic washer and dryer, I'd probably go to a true appliance only store, which can steer you toward the best models.

Of note, we haven't used a washer with an agitator for over 15-years. We pass down all the kids clothing which look almost as good as new and are still worn by cousins today. There is something to say about no agitation and the clothing extended life.
