Newegg has Team Elite 2x8GB DDR4 3200 laptop memory for $46.99, which is the cheapest I've seen it. I need some cheap 2x8GB modules and I've been planning on waiting until closer to Black Friday, but I'm not sure if this will get much cheaper by then.
People complaining about the speeds don't seem to appreciate that this RAM is using JEDEC speeds. Most laptops don't include RAM overclocking options in the BIOS, so if you put in "faster" RAM it will likely fall back to even slower JEDEC speeds like 2400 c16.
Check your laptop's BIOS before buying RAM for it, and if it doesn't have RAM overclocking options then buy a JEDEC kit like this that matches the spec your laptop supports. These are the only JEDEC speeds available, with the 3200 spec in this kit being the fastest: https://www.techpowerup.com/img/14-10-02/13a.jpg
Edit: I notice that chart I linked actually has an error. It shows 3200 as cl24, but should be cl22. The rest seems correct, though there is also a 2666 cl19 option missing (which is usually what you want for Intel ix 8xxx class laptops)
Two of these installed in my HP Target special. They're totally fine. Machine works great. I just gotta somehow escape Windows S Mode hell.

Sure. Probably not a great option if RAM performance is important to you (e.g., for gaming). But for people who do no/light gaming and just want to expand the stock 8GB RAM stick that came with their laptop, this seems like a pretty good option.

I just need 1x 8GB stick like you say. Could you post something that might come up?

Seems like a good deal? Lowest price for 16gb (2x8) laptop memory
I think so. Maybe not a smoking, ironclad front page deal, but pretty good.
Since I posted it last week, I haven't seen any cheaper deals for 2x8GB 3200 laptop DDR4. Also, last week it wasn't marked as a "Black Friday Deal" so I was thinking the price might drop again. But now it _is_ a "Black Friday Deal," so I guess this is it.
Newegg shipped mine pretty quickly -- I've had it for a few days.
