I picked this up as well, hell of a deal for a laptop like this. Screen nits at 400 is also nice, this is a hot topic frequently complained about on SD forums around laptops this year. If you use the email sign up discount code, the code above, and the ID.me discount, it drops the price to $1063 pretax. Fantastic deal IMO, been watching everything lately and I think this is the sweet spot for the price and what it is coming with. Dont forget about the extended return policy!

May not be a deal breaker for some, but was for me unfortunately. Regardless, great find OP!

Also to help others make an informed decision, the 3060 looks to be 75 watts, which is perfectly fine for this price point and a non-gaming machine, but you're looking at around a 15% performance reduction compared to a higher (95, 120, or 130) watt 3060...likely more at this resolution. Temper your expectations accordingly (advice I need to follow more often than not).

Edit: just saw gyraxis had already mentioned the wattage in the thread, cheers my dude.

This uses the same motherboard and cooling as the Legion 7 Slim. Bought mine for mobile work and gaming and it works great for it. This laptops is really quiet at full load in comparison to the gaming laptops. I have it mining Ethereum when I'm not using it and it gets 38Mh/s. The only complaint is the WiFi, plan to replace it with an Intel AX210.

Just picked up an open box Ideapad pro 5 from microcenter for 850ish but it's having a lot of wifi issues.

Not even close to the same type of laptop. That's a gaming laptop with WVA FHD 16:9 screen and a full lb heavier. This is a productivity laptop with 16" IPS 2560x1600.

indeed, however worth noting as others have, this 3060 maxq has a 75w limit, while the one found in the legion 7 slim has a 90w limit.

The better screen is well worth the extra $, but you are comparing two different classes of laptop.

showing 1-2 weeks right now in the link. It was 4+ months, then 3+ months in the days before I posted. Soon as it showed 1-2 weeks, I ordered one and posted it here.
