FYI - Eddie Bauer no longer has a lifetime warranty. Everything looks to be only a year now.

I bought this last year and didn't like it at all. The fit ended up being rather baggy and it was VERY thin. Just be aware when you buy this that you're buying basically a shell, not like a winter coat.

And yes—it did smell very bad.

Mine didn't smell bad but definitely isn't as warm as my other more expensive down jackets. I'd make sure to layer up with a hoodie or something under it in sub 50 degree weather.

Probably regular. You can look through the reviews for the jacket. On the left, some reviewers include their height and what size they ordered and how it fit. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a way to search by height. I'm 6'6" 215lbs. and usually order large-tall when I order from EB and the fit is borderline too long for me.

I am confused what size to get as gift. She wears petite but most review says get regular and no need to get petite.
Can anyone share if they know the difference? Also colors are limited so confused.

My test for whether you need Tall sizing is when you crouch/bend to tie your shoes or pick something up. I want a couple inches of "Plumber Crack Insurance" at the hem, so I usually buy Tall.

6'2", 210#, long torso and arms (+2 ape index)

BS. I bought two. Neither smelled. Went out on 10 degree-20 degree NJ Winter days and was warm for over an hour.

Bought this jacket at the start of the year. First thing I did was wash it via delicate cycle. It came out smelling like feathers. Worse than that, the feathers got clumped together within each section losing the ability to provide any warmth. Returned it.
