I'm holding out because this was $280 Dec 2020, here's proof
https://slickdeals.net/e/14668139-18tb-wd-easystore-desktop-hard-drive-bestbuy-280?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1

Might go down to $260 on black friday, but with inflation maybe $280 again

Note: Price might not go down depending on global supply issue with HDD

This is what I use for backup of my 30TB effective raid5. I have 2 of these in a synology nas on a iot power switch. Powers on once a week, gets new data, powers off.

Unless absolutely needing the 18TB per piece, go for 14TB which is a new sweet spot for personal use.
I have 2 14TB and I needed more, 18 or 20TB is the sweet spot lol

Sucks if this fails. How the heck to back it up?
Buy two, keep one off-site. I keep five copies of my most sensitive data in three different geographic locations.
