If you're going to shuck an 18TB, Reds (NAS grade) and Golds (Enterprise grade) have been very close to this price frequently lately, will be more reliable, and don't need to be shucked.
I missed the $270 deal on Golds but still happily bought 2x at $300 each to get my Unraid setup into a more sensible configuration. Previously I'd had a shucked SMR as my parity drive... yeesh
EDIT: The $270 deal was for 16TB Golds, not 18TB. Sorry about that; I still have 18TB on the brain but I ended up locking into a 16TB-based setup due to my needing drives enough at the time to have picked a good deal on High Quality 16TB'ers rather than waiting for a smoking-hot deal on Good Enough 18TB'ers.

Exos due to warranty but be careful. I grabbed a x18 16Tb and it didn't have a warranty. Had to return it for a x16. Lots of sellers are being shady.

Go check the warranty on the website. I got one that had no warranty
Ahh, I guess that means I am returning mine as well.
No WD have warranty, they don't honor it, even if u buy from wd directly
