To spend the minimum $5 , you can't do Reload which is a minimum $10 , so you can get a $5 Gift Card , which after you click on the Redeem button in your email , allows for a Transfer to an existing card , so the final outcome is essentially a $5 reload. I was using the website (from PC) rather than app in case that makes any difference.

I was able to add PayPal to my Starbucks app and as form of payment and reload my card on there. I have two PayPal accounts so I got to use it on each one. You have to delete the first PayPal account off your Starbucks app before you can add the other to do the reload and get the $3 off. It worked perfectly both times. Thank you!

On the Starbucks app, in the gift card amount section you can select "other" then type in $5. It worked for me buying s $5 e gift card and sending it to myself.
