List price for non-refurbished chopper is $64.99. Prior frontpage for 5-cup chopper was $22.50

Is this considered a food processor?

I have this and it's pretty awful. It has a safety that prevents it from turning on that is just infuriating. Sometimes takes me 5 minutes each time to orientate it just right and still doesn't work if the bottom gets wet from soup or other liquids. You get what you pay for though, for $20 I would not really consider this a good deal. I have since had to buy a proper one: "buy it once and buy it right" fits in this case.

Per the KitchenAid site:

"A food chopper usually has one blade to chop, purée and mix smaller batches, although some models include a whisk attachment. A food processor is larger and has a feed tube along with multiple blades that make a variety of cuts. "\

The non-refurb model has good reviews. I'm in for one to send to the kid. I've never used all the doo-dads that came with my Cuisinart.

I have one and love it for smaller things. (vs my Cuisinart) I'm doing some cauliflower now for mock mashed potatoes. For $20 I'm all in for another. And btw, I understand the point made about the safety tab, but as it breaks in it becomes much less of an issue. Pretty much a no issue at that.

Agreed. I borrowed one from my upstairs duplex neighbor to make brazil nut butter for a sauce I was making, and it was pretty simple to use.

its not rocket science, rotate lid and container until it hits lock while not depressing the switch slightly which would block it from going all the way.

Sure it works fine for some things like nuts and small quantities of veggies, but if you plan to make soup or do anything useful with this, you'll quickly run into the shortcomings of this product.

That's what full size cuisinarts are for, but those are many times more, and often actually have the same lock design, although slightly smoother in operation as the molding is more exact.
