These are neat and really good at starting seeds for transplanting after they sprout. I do _NOT_ recommend leaving plants in the unit long term. The max height on this isn't able to support the actual height of the plants after a few weeks.
The food they provide for the plants is plenty for herbs and most plants but if you're serious about growing plants indoors you'll quickly switch to Master Blend as it's far better for the plants.
I've successfully grow tomatoes, peppers, cucumber, broccoli, kale and around 8 different types of herbs. These are great for getting children interested in plants.

6. Using 5000K lumens shoplight bought for $14 which covers almost 4-5 such DWC systems so I saved money on individual LED grow lights.
