It appears that Ubiquiti's U6-Pro access point is in stock and out of the early access program. My Ubiquiti stock alert didn't trigger because they've apparently made a new sku listing for it (or something).

Max order quantity of 2. Reddit thread suggests that UI may be counting prior purchases towards that limit.

Does not include a required PoE injector. I bought the U-PoE-AT [ui.com].

How does this compare to the Wi-Fi 6 long range that's been out for a little bit now? I guess what I'm asking is if I already own one of those, would this be any better for home use?

Thanks! Got one. I have two UAP-AC-PRO's, one of which I pulled out of an old UAP-AC-EDU. It bothers me that it is EOL so this is a good excuse to replace that one. Should I just replace both since it is limit 2? Good marketing...

Doesn't require an injector if you have a POE switch.

I read that on difference is the pro does wifi 6 on the 2.4 gigahertz channel as well as the 5. Not sure what that means to me.

I wish they support 2.5gbe or multi ports + link aggregation. WiFi 6e is another story though.

It looks like they are pretty similar. Main difference seems to be PRO has wifi6 support on both 5ghz and 2.4ghz but LR only has wifi6 support on 5ghz band only. However LR has 4x4 MIMI on 2.4ghz vs PRO of 2x2 MIMO.

As a user of the EA version of the U6-PRO for many months, it's an excellent unit neutered by the fact it only has a 1Gbps port instead of a 2.5Gbps port which the SoC natively supports. You can saturate the 1Gbps link easily with a single WiFi 6 5GHz stream with a 80 MHz channel. Support for 160 MHz channels for most people, is virtually pointless.

The latest firmware for the unit, v6.0.2 just went official.

As for the differences between the U6-PRO and the U6-LR, other than the ones mentioned in the comments above, Ubiquiti considers the U6-PRO a Gen6 unit while the U6-LR is a Gen5 unit. Otherwise, it's a fantastic AP other than the shortcomings listed above. It's a true "set-and-forget" AP.
