Thanks for the feedback! I see Costco has a Pyrex set going on sale on Monday; I'll skip the tritan and go straight to glass. My latest Rubbermaid plastic set is not holding up well at all, so it's time for a change.

I've got a bunch of these Tritan ones from Wally's and am quite pleased with them, no issues, clear, no staining, easy to clean, seem durable. Was kind of surprised, really, considering the low price even before they went on sale.

**(As for whether they impart anything to the food, there's really no way for you or I to know, but it is very highly doubtful that any container you purchase will impart anything to food that is worse than what is already in 99% of what we purchase at supermarkets. The food item is not likely to be in the container for very long in any case compared to its previous storage in packaging/store/warehouse/factory etc. I'm not trying to be preachy, so ya'll don't need to all flame me at once, but folks really need to worry 1,000x more about than they do about the sat fats, sugar, and salt they are ingesting with HUGE bad heath effects than infinitesimal trace chemicals that conspiracy theorists on the internet believe come from containers which may have a very very small tiny health effect. If any at all.)

The Rubbermaid Brilliance storage containers are made of Tritan plastic. We've had a set for years and they are fantastic. They are extremely durable, they don't stain, and they don't retain odors.

If it's glass or pyrex then great, however I see this 'tritan' is the material:

"The stain-resistant Tritan material maintains a spotless look and resists odors, and is also BPA-free and durable. The crystal-clear lid and container are transparent like glass, so you can always see what' s stored inside. The simple lock system is easy to use and secure. Remove the lid before microwaving food."

Any experiences? Really transparent like glass? Not imparting any nasty things into the food?

Not that I have any experience with Tritan, but apparently Rubbermaid makes Tritan based boxes too and they seem to be a hit on Amazon Reviews. Just search for Rubbermaid Tritan on Amz

We got this and the containers are pretty small. They are clear but don't feel very thick or strong. They seem to seal well though.

This and folks who whine about little 5hings they perceive as health issue, are ingesting regularly toxins such as alcohol, pig products, processed food , all are detrimental to your health.

The description is hard to read with a space inserted into each decimal number after the period. Who does that?

* 1 round 110 ml / 0.46 cup
* 1 round 310 ml / 1.3 cup
* 1 round 730 ml / 3 cup
* 2 square 210 ml / 0.89 cup
* 2 rectangular 120 ml / 0.5 cup
* 1 rectangular 1000 ml / 4.2 cup
* 1 rectangular 1300 ml / 5.5 cup

I agree with others that this set is pretty small.
Just going to buy more Pyrex glass if I need them.

yup. my brother-in-law worries about mysterious unnamed "toxins" threatening him...but doesn't wear his seatbelt in a car!

even assuming said unnamed mystery "toxins" exist, the chances of them affecting you are many, many, many orders of magnitude less than getting into a car accident. Numbers Matter.

Since we have a bunch of armchair experts weighing in about safety, I'd like to point out that the concern of chemicals leaching from plastics has almost exclusively revolved around what happens when the plastics get hot, not what happens to them at room temperature, on the shelf, or in your fridge. I have this set, but I do not put it in the microwave, ever, nor do I put food in there before it's cooled off. You might assume it's safe (I hear that all the time about melted Styrofoam takeout containers), but I don't.

I got a pack for $10 a few weeks ago during the first week of the Walmart BF sales and they definitely stain. If I hadn't thrown the box away they would be going back.The clips are also very flaky and come off. Don't recommend.
