My current yearly deal ends mid may 2022, if it matters. If it worked for others, it might be because, for example, they had less than 2 months* left in their subscription, or something like that.
*I'm not saying it works if you have 2 or less months. I'm saying theres got to be some reason for it.
Edit - when I cancelled, they offered me $99 for the year. Not bad, but I'm still mad they didn't offer it for $89 and my prior comment still stands.

You have a year or two to exchange books you don't like (don't go crazy, they track, but you should do it. saves money, and who wants to pay for those crappy picks? You don't know it's crappy till you hear it).
Note: if you buy 2 books during the 2-for-1 sale you can't exchange one of those unless you return them both at same time for 1 credit back.
