Though I agree that there is something to be said about just getting the ad free version. It seems some people in the past have had luck chatting with Amazon reps to have them remove the ads after purchase. Citing tablet slowdown as the necessity.

Will use toolbox for customization.
I am more than moderately comfortable with tech, just didn't know there was a recipe to take out the ads. Now if there's a deal of a tablet with ads I know to google for a removal hack.
I also have no problem calling customer service and telling them my tablet is too slow and getting them to do it. lol. I'm surprised they do. Me thinking they might only do that after the tablet is a few years old, otherwise they could argue an ad-free tablet was/is available.
