Yes, the costco version (i8) is functionally identical expect for a slightly larger battery (20% increase.) Otherwise, the costco bundle comes with extra bags and parts, but most importantly, a much better return policy should the vacuum have issues down the road. I was torn between the $550 i7+ from BB, then the j8+ for $600 from roomba direct after the amex offer, but I think the return policy of the i8+ at $580 is the best fit for what I want.
I can't comment on the base, but I have owned the i7 since it came out, and it has been pretty great. iRobot really improved the app experience. Also, two benefits of getting a Roomba over other brands that I like are the abundance of replacement parts/ease of repair and the iRobot customer service.
I have the i7+. It's a really great robovac! I'd prioritize mapping and auto-empty bin over anything else. The auto-empty dock is what makes it a "set and forget" machine. Unless you have multiple shedding pets, the bag won't need to be emptied for months. It's crazy how much it compacts the dirt.
At a $30 difference I'd go for the i8+ for the larger battery and return policy. Admittedly the battery isn't TOO important as it will charge and resume if it needs to anyway, but larger is better and it will potentially have a longer life as well as it won't be as deeply discharged each cycle.

Much better deal if you have carpeted home and doesn't need mopping function. In that case I would get this (or the Costco roomba deal) over the Roborock, which the whole point of that is because the s7 has a pretty awesome mop.
Is there a different between the Best Buy i7 and Costco model of i8? Starting 22nd it's on sale for $580 at Costco.

Is there a link to an ad for the i8+ going on sale for $580 @ costco on the 22nd?

Bummed that none of the latest deals will be as close Bed Bath and Beyond one for $400 for the i7+. Been on the hunt for another one since that deal.
FYI, I love this over my neato. Self-emptying is a game changer! My Neato around year 3 wont find the base station after its run. I have my i7+ running my upstairs (carpet) and has been great! The first couple runs, the bin was overflowing but now it is great! Definitely notice a lot less gunk in my air purifiers as well with it running! The app is also great, it will even suggest avoiding certain areas if it repeatedly would get stuck (legs of my night stand).

I know the N8+ has the mop function, but seems like quite a price difference. Is it purely name recognition?
