several threads on these... if you have a grandfathered plan, you can add these cameras. If not grandfathered, storage for XT2 is via subscription - the later versions can save via to Module 2 and forgo subscription for storage.

- I don't buy their subscription--and don't plan to, for any ip cameras

- can I have a similar setup with Blink?

What if I don't want to subscribe to the subscription plan or use Local Storage?
Without a subscription plan or free trial, your Blink system can only send motion alerts that connect you to that camera's Live View in the Blink App.Accounts that were created before April 15, 2020, can use their existing cloud storage as normal with newer cameras, but some features are only available with a subscription (or free trial subscription).
How does Local Storage work?
You can purchase a new system that includes the Blink Sync Module 2 and insert a USB flash drive (sold separately) to allow a once-daily backup of clips in cloud storage. Clip backups do not appear in the Blink app. You must eject the USB drive from the Sync Module 2 and view the clips on your computer.
Those 2 things pretty much kill this deal for me.

3 wireless cameras and batteries and a bridge for $50 is a heck of a deal. But the cameras are locked down to just work with Blink, and even inside that they dont work with sync module 2 local storage. They also trade off battery life for motion accuracy. They are terribly inaccurate at alerting and the distance between them and the sync module (they do not use your regular wifi they must be close to where you put the sync module) is quite low.
What are they GOOD for? a clean wireless indoor cam setup, like multiroom baby check-in cams.
