Is this hardwired with battery backup OR only battery operated?
Thanks for any input,

Reviews indicate this is battery only (and there isn't a hardwired version of this model)

So can this send mobile alerts without having to have ring or the other smart ecosystems it list in the post? Or is that feature only available when tied to one of those?

You'll need a hub system to alert you with these. They can't do it directly.

It will work standalone but functionality will be limited. It won't send messages for example.

A way to get the hardwired non-Zwave alarms to work in your Z-wave system.

It needs a hub to connect to for alerts.

Ordered a pack to try out. Been using nest protect but they keep falling off my network periodically. And these are a lot cheaper so since I have a ring alarm figured I'd try these out. Since it's Costco can always return.

I absolutely want the hardwired version but it doesn't exist yet. I hear these batteries only last 6 months or a year Max so definitely a concern to keep it on the network. I heard they were going to release a version but covid delayed development

I bought three of these last year. Two of them decided that anytime after midnight was a great time for a false alarm. I've never had that happen with any of the detectors i've had in the past.

Why is it that all smoke detectors wait until after 2am to start chirping? It's way beyond law of averages at this point - I'd say 90% of my battery low chirps come after 2am.
