Yeah, I am having a hard time getting used to them. On the one hand they seem too soft and don't offer enough support, and on the other hand they seem to hard because they are stuffed so full. That probably doesn't make sense, but I think next time I will go with foam. They are probably good if you like big pillows to sit up reading, surfing the internet, or doing the crossword puzzle in bed, though.

Interesting you should say that, here's what I found about their "down and feathers" pillows that I bought:

Specifications:
Pillow core filled with duck down and feathers - 5%/95%
Thin, "softy-around" outer wrap of fluffy polyester

I don't know what the standard is but 95% feathers seems high. laugh out loud

I was being sarcastic with the percentages, but now I would fully expect them to be correct in a comforter vs a pillow, where you're laying on it vs laying under it.

With a combo of both on your bed, you can have feathers sticking your head and face, and your balls. Win win.

Check your local ShopRite. I'm seeing Madison queen and king duck down comforters in stock for $39.99 (save $30) in stores, along with same brand organic cotton sheets $19.99. The comforter is min 75% down/25% feathers which is standard labeling I think for all down. Anyways, lowest prices I've seen this year for a decent midweight comforter in years.

Have the same pillows and the exact same feedback. Just terrible. Feel like I'm not sinking into them, no fluff at all. It's like sleeping on a stack of folded sheets.

Actually, I think we have this on a king sized bed.

Been about a year and it's comfortable as a down … comforter. It goes on top of the sheets so it stays a bit cleaner I guess and we have a light weight throw on top of it. Usually it's fine until winter hits (like now) when it's 33F outside and I like it a little bit cooler for sleeping.

Thickness is on par with other comforters in term of feathers. It's light weigh so doesn't feel weighted but a bit thicker than other fabric/cloth ones we've had. The Hotel Quality brand has been solid, I think we have a few of the towels and pillows (and maybe sheet) sets.

Feathers haven't come out whatsoever and since we don't sleep ON it like a pillow, compression isn't an issue either.

We aren't in the market for another comforter. But by comparison we've bought about three sets of pillows in the last three years, a new mattress and a couple of the furniture options from Costco as well. So we don't mind trying things out and haven't had a reason to swap on blankets like we have on other bedding.

$60? Sure, I'd buy one if I didn't already have.

Put a duvet cover on it and machine wash the cover. Also will prevent feathers from poking you.

I was going to say the same thing. Dry clea. Only is mentioned in almost every post, but there are typically put in a duvet cover.

Can purchase without a Costco membership for an extra 5%.

Dry cleaning chemicals can damage/strip the breathable waterproof coating that's applied to outdoor geared down jackets. It isn't the down inside that dry cleaning ruins. If you wash down at home, it is best to use a down specific detergent like Nikwax or Granger's. They don't lather much and therefore rinse clean more easily. Tide markets their Free and Clear detergent as being down friendly. If you're being frugal, I wouldn't go that route, at least get some Woolite if you're in a pinch. Use the gentle cycle with cool or warm water, and add an extra rinse cycle, especially if you're using Woolite or Tide. Tumble dry on low heat with tennis or wool drying balls to batten the down loft to fluff it up and speed up drying time as well. DO NOT use fabric softener. It leaves an oily residue that makes it harder for the down to fluff up and is difficult to wash away even in subsequent washes.
