I bought 2 stick vacuums in the past and both failed in many aspects, power, battery, capacity, ease of use, the amount of hair I had to shop off the brushes! etc. If you want a clean house, and are able to tolerate a heavier than average stick vacuum, and have $600 laying around, get this. I wasted my time and money on budget $100-200 stick vacuums and I was not happy, I should have put that money in dyson a long time ago. I'm not saying it's perfect, find what fits your needs, but this is a great value for a great vacuum, for people with specific needs. For a while I didn't think dyson was worth the price, but after using it, I now get it. Don't downvote on the basis of price alone
It is also currently on sale at Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, and comes & goes at this price at Dyson directly + Dyson adds some other incentives for accessories.
If you have a large home (>=2,000sf), and don't mind the extra weight, the outsize seems to be a better option since it's cheaper by $100 and has the 2nd battery to allow you to fully clean the house without having to wait to re-charge. I currently own a V8 and am very close to buying the outsize. Our house is >3000sf, 50/50 mix of hard surface and carpet, and I can't ever vacuum it all on a single charge. Plus I have to empty the tiny bin twice.
