Dedicated Graphic card and screen size aside, how's this compared to the MSI 15.6" entry level gaming laptop Walmart deal coming out tomorrow from a performance standpoint? I ordered this one today but having second thoughts now based on the MSI deal.

Hows the battery life?
I have the Ryzen 3 version from last year that was on sale for $379. Battery life is meh (3-4 hours)…at least for me while doing schoolwork, browsing and reading, light video playback. I was definitely shocked and disappointed, but like most people think and say, this type of laptop is not really meant to be portable.

i3-1125G4 is a quad-core. Yes it is!!! Same as the 11th gen i5 ----This i3 CPU gets same Passmark rating at about 10000 as the i5/11th gen CPU does------- BUT the i5 has superior IRIS graphics. I have the laptop mentioned above with the i3- 1125G4. But mine came with Win 10 -- I clean installed Win 11. Mine came with a Samsung NVMe.

Beware of laptops with the i3-1115G4 CPU --- This CPU is dual core/not quad core!!! and its Passmark is 6000 or so
The i3 model does not have a backlit keyboard. If anyone cares.

Yes, USB C (or with a dongle) and HDMI, and then also the laptop screen. But dont expect to game on it and then have 2 more monitors, its really just for productivity.

even if the spec says it doesn't support DP, it will still be able to display via the USB-C? Thanks

Specs say max memory is 16 GB. Looks like it comes with a soldered 8GB chip and you can add another 8GB of DDR4 SO-DIMM. As for storage, I don't know there's a limit, except whatever size SATA III 2.5" drive you can find.

https://www.asus.com/us/Laptops/F.../techspec/

Follow-up question: Can someone tell me if the speed of RAM matters, from a dual channel standpoint? Do I need to match the speed of the soldered chip and, if so, what the speed is?
