Great deal on a cult classic. Atlas games normally sell out at this price and they don't really make reprints. Not sure why the Switch version is more expensive though when it actually runs a bit worse

Nintendo 90% of the time will always be more expensive for the same game than PS and Xbox. It may play better on another console, but Nintendo's caveat is it retains significantly more value and in some cases go higher years later when discontinued.

It is none of those reasons. The Nintendo Switch one is more expensive because it's PORTABLE. Play in 720p portable or play 1080p in dock. Playstation 4 can't compete with that. This game isnt that intensive so i'm not sure where the "actually runs a bit worse" comes from. It's still just a PS2 game at it's core so it runs fine. It's not like Doom where i've had to overclock my switch.
I can play SMT 3 on my Vita Smilie)))))

It's a fact cartridges are more expensive than discs and digital...also, it's Nintendo.

There is no excuse for this old ass game to run at 30fps, especially on PS4 and PC.

If I want to play it, I'll run the PS2 version at 4K.

if you have no idea what you're talking about, it's usually best to just shut up. stop sharing misinformation.

the price isn't determined based on if the game is "PORTABLE" or not; if that were true, every Switch game would be more expensive than every other PS5/Xbox game and that's clearly not the case. hell, new Switch games are still $60 vs PS5/Xbox being $70. Nintendo games are usually a bit more expensive because of the cartridge cost being more than a CD.

and the fact that the game was originally a PS2 games is absolutely irrelevant when you're talking about performance on an entirely different console. not sure why you're bringing your fanboy emotions into this, when it's simply a fact the Switch performance for this game is worse than performance on PS5/Xbox, which really shouldn't even be surprising to anyone.

So does this game run at the garbage <30fps that Shin Megami Tensei V does on the switch? Or does it actually play well?

"Modern" Nintendo hardware can't handle the equivalent of PS2 graphics.

I like to think of switch games like they are a 2 for 1. You can play the game on a TV like a dedicated console and you can play the game portably if you want. But again, that is just me and other people have their opinions.

Well like I said in my other post in this discussion I do agree with your first part but definitely not your second part. Sony and Microsoft don't have options to play their games on-the-go (without any extra subscriptions or services) and that is a fact. But the runs a bit worse is pretty much true for most other games. The frame rate and resolution of many games are considerably gimped to work on the switch which makes sense and is fine for some people.

No need to be so upset because your opinion is different from somebody else's opinion. Yes that is a fact too that cartridges do cost more than discs but goodness gracious don't you think you are approaching this discussion a bit aggressively?

Pretty sure he wasn't stating an opinion, and neither were you.
You made an assumption and he revoked your comment on the grounds that your comment spread misinformation passed on as fact.

Not that I know who's right or wrong, but in MY opinion, I'm leaning more toward him having the more unbiased truth.

I thought they were making a new entry into the Shin Megami titles. Was it actually just a remaster?
