B12 (methylcobalamin) is a protein molecule. They only way it doesn't get digested in your digestive track like all other proteins is due to a molecule called "intrinsic factor" which is basically a taxi for b12.
This supplement has way more b12 than your body can absorb because your body won't produce enough intrinsic factor to transport all of it.
Intrinsic factor is produced when you eat so in order increase your absorbtion of b12 you should only take b12 with meals. B12 also has a high molecular weight so forget about sublingual supplements.
Some people with genetic conditions are unable to recycle the b12 molecule which will get clogged with a methyl molecule once in a while. They only way they can get enough b12 is either through injection or by taking a b12 supplement with intrinsic factor included.
