There's no upgrading the RAM. Only SSD which is easy.

Finally the fabric keyboards (Type Covers) tend to wear at the edges (https://www.reddit.com/r/Surface/...ce_pro_4/) Although that is an old thread the design of the covers has not changed and they are difficult to keep clean.

I think the current deal at BB is the Pro 7 i5/256GB/16GB for $1,000 without cover or pen. This is an easy decision as I'd get the 7+. The leap in performance is too much to justify double the ram.
The best deal on the Pro 7 was when Walmart had the i5/128GB/8GB with type cover for $699. So this Costco deal gets you the Pro 7+ with the pen for $100 more. Pretty solid imo.
