This is so much better than any of the LaCrosse or Acurite stuff. Even if not on sale it's worth it if you're looking for a weather station.

Nice find OP and congrats on your 1st reps Smilie

Edit: this is the mount I use: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0...eva_mobile it's a "newer" model than the one I have. Mine was sub $15 when I bough it
Ours was no problem setting up and has no wifi disconects issues. The rain gage is spot on with a second different brand systems gage and both match the analog rain gage we have.
i can chime in with the same sentiment.. I have had mine from march of 2019 paid 170 for it and have not had one single issue.. have not even replaced the batteries.

Thanks for posting. I purchased one a year ago for about $170. I love it. It's crazy how different our weather varies from what's reported in the area.
I just purchased 2 for Christmas gifts.

I've had an "ambient" alert set up for over a year now so thank you for the post, I ordered one from their site due to the extra sensor deal. I had an older model but I couldn't join it to the network so I'm excited to get some historical data going with this one and maybe even do some scripting to alert me via email or text when the temperature gets to a certain degree (so I can make sure my more sensitive plants are properly protected).

Beware issues with the consoles wifi functionality. Very unreliable in my experience and the setup app is awful. It was disconnecting randomly, then got worse during an attempted software update. I also don't believe the rain sensor at all. I'd look at another brand.

Thank you.
Does anyone know if I have to connect the LCD monitor to use the weather station? I want to place the station at the farm, but I'll be miles away using the mobile app/ website to view the data. Of course, I have wifi at the weather station. I don't need the LCD monitor all the way out at the farm where it might get stolen/ damaged.

It's a different price point, but a completely different type of unit (no moving parts). Weatherflow beats the rest of these units, hands down. https://weatherflow.com/tempest-weather-system/

The lcd console reports the data via wifi to the internet server, so yes you must setup and connect the console to the internet via wifi. The various sensors send there information to the console via A 950 mhz radio link, not directly to the internet.

I'm new to this so please double-check me, but I believe you can use something like the Ecowitt GW1100 [ecowitt.com] to collect the data from the array and then send it over wifi to a service like Ecowitt Weather [ecowitt.net] or Weather Underground [wunderground.com]. However, if you want to send it to Ambient Weather you'll need the LCD console.

I have essentially this same unit (WS-2902A.) and can't be happier with the results over the last two years.

I've been through multiple weather stations over the years. I've had Ambient Weather, AccurRite, and La Crosse. I like this Ambient Weather system the best so far.

The solar remote sensor array is fantastic. I love not having to change batteries. Not having to climb up onto the roof to do it is even better!

I didn't think I would care about the UV sensor, but that's proven useful. The anemometer, direction, and rain gauges all appear to work very well. The thermometer is well housed and does a great job of limiting the impact of the sun and giving false reading. This unit will show what appears to be correct temperature next to my "dumb" thermometers that don't benefit from the shroud and fan.

I don't recall having much issue getting it setup. I do know that I've had a great connection between the array and the base. I also push my data to Weather Underground. This unit and AW's servers appear to have a lot more up-time than my AccuRite unit that would show data on the base but wasn't uploading to the web, or would be uploading, but AccuRite's servers were failing to push the data over to WUnderground. I had to do restarts often with that one. This hasn't had any issues like that.

This is a great price for a very solid unit.
