The ninja blender at best buy is 1500 watts. .This one is 1200 watts. I'm not sure if the Best buy version has IQ. What is IQ you ask. Each IQ button has a preprogrammed pattern of blending. For example, the Smoothie IQ button might go something like this: Pulse for 8 seconds to break up big ice cubes, then blend for 10 sec, then pulse again for 5 seconds to get the remaining piece of ice cubes, then blend 20 seconds.
It's a good thing to have. It basically simulates what you would be doing manually anyway.
It's a freaking blender… it chops up giant chunks of solids and turns it into a slurry all in a plastic container.. they're all loud… lol

It all comes down to what you plan to use it for. I can't recommend either one since I don't own either one. I will own the BL770 in a week. This is an upgrade for me from a BL6xx model. I know it's older.
Super super loud. Good food processor in function, but it will damage your ear and your neighbors might complain. It is LOUD. after one year of usage, the large container developed crack marks on the inside.

I bought one from Costco 3 years ago with AutoIQ, model ct680ss. It was good, but now when running the small jar, it's unbearably loud. When making smoothie, I ask everyone to close their ears, it really can damage the ears. The smoothie program runs for about a min. I believe the noise is because the small nut holding the gear on the base (not sure the exact name of it) is missing. I can't find the part online.
Otherwise, it's really a powerful, very useful machine.
If you don't need those bells and whistles, and just need the blender with main jar 1200watt, IQ model for around 55 with Qs. and 5 credit for store pickup at Kohls
Is this any better? If so how. II make protein shakes. I do want to mention sometimes my shakes are very thick and takes a while for everything to mix by having me stir
Also I'm confused does higher watts mean better and is auto iq any beneficial
Ive used several Ninjas for over 15 years but the one I currently have is just ear-splitting to make smoothies. I just bought a 1200 watt Nutribullet from Costco that is on sale for $69.

Ok, just tried the bullet...it's going back. Did not do a good job with my regular smoothie. Had to remove the cup and shake it several times.
