Budget DRAM-less TLC drive, 1800/1500 read/write (MB/s). Performance is nothing to write home about, but the price is pretty keen... Appended a link to a review below for those who want to know more.

Why would you get this when you can get a $170 msrp 1TB MSI gen 4 SSD on Newegg for $75 after $20 rebate (even if the rebate never comes that is still a better deal )

Keep in mind, according to the lone review online, the MSI Spatium M470 drive runs hot (and may not be real efficient), so it's probably not a good choice for laptops or systems with mediocre cooling. Good performance though apparently.

Not sure if this helps, but my M470 is currently running at 39C (Not under load), and sits right below my Radeon 6800.

But some people put these things in laptops... Yeah, shocking, I know.

The Spatium M470 1TB deal at Newegg was the one unambiguously killer deal that I have seen this Black Friday/Cyber Monday for an SSD. There are other decent deals, but I haven't seen one to approach that.

I got lucky. I saw it, and went to Newegg at 2am as I could get tired that night. It was not on sale, but went back about one minute later to check on a spec, and it was. So was able to grab it. It was on the list of drives that was tested with the PS5 and worked. However, I ended up putting as a game drive on my gaming PC, and got the XPG S70 deal for my PS5.

However, per the article...

"The peak stress temperature measured hovers at roughly 83 Degrees on NAND, no worries NAND is designed for such temps."
