Do I have to be a paying member to get early access?
Yes, you'll need to be a paying Walmart+ member to get early access
--------
Anybody know the latest date one can signup?
Note: "Walmart+ membership requires at least one valid card on file."
I just signed up. I was already logged into my Walmart account. I attempted to delete my current credit card on file as bank canceled it due to fraud on my account. The above message was displayed when I attempted to delete payment method. So if we are required to have a card on the account we will be charged automatically after 90 days if we do not cancel. Leaving no card on the account does not appear to be an option.
Note Plus : I just tried signing up , it did not ask for credit card. Successfully subscribed.

not as many perks as Prime, but can pay for itself if you do groceries and regular small orders. hoping they add additional perks to be more competitive- the exclusive/early access to deals is a good start.
But Heads up, this will NOT make you eligible for W+ Exclusive Black Friday deals.
they have been very explicit that only PAID memberships get that perk.
...guess they learned from the Salesforce fiasco lol
also check you favorite CB/Point/rewards outlets for W+ kickbacks. you can sometimes get a year free or half off

Not sure how much more explicit they can be.

auto renew for real? they said "no credit card needed". i better find that "renew cancel" button now....
By signing up, you agree that after the 90-day term, your membership will be canceled, unless you add a payment card. If we have a payment card on file for you, we will charge the monthly membership fee of $12.95/month to that card, and thereafter on a recurring basis each month, at the fee then in effect, until you cancel. Contact Customer Care or visit your Account to cancel. No refunds on any plan. This offer is not available to DC residents. Subject to complete Terms.

Then again, for me, it doesn't seem worth it. I was actually going to purchase it since my American Express if offering a $49 statement credit when signing up using the card. But I learned very quickly it won't be worth it. Walmart is roughly 2 miles from me...small town so no traffic, one traffic light. Does that mean I don't want same day delivery no charge? No. But when I tried to place an order that night, the offer was for next day pick-up or delivery. I chose delivery and the $7.99 fee was waived, but there was a $5.99 fee for the order being under $35. Isn't that the point of paying $100 a year for delivery, so there's no minimum order and free shipping/delivery? Then, it suggested an automatic $7 tip...on an $18 order lol. NOT.
Oh, and even worse..they added the $5.99 to pick-up as well for not meeting $35. I hadn't have that happen before ever. So that was weird.
Walmart delivers my orders all the time same day or next day because it's a small area and I'm right by the store...saves them actual shipping costs. Even when a friend bought something for me as a gift, I called to tell her thank you and she had no idea what I was talking about because it told her the order would be delivered that Friday (it was Tuesday), and I got it a few hours after she ordered. All that to say, consider any past orders you've placed and what the turnaround time was. And definitely try it often during the trial to get an even better judgement. Then decide if this will be worth the purchase.
