I would argue they accomplish different things and neither are perfect. I do Pimseleur Vietnamese every morning and while helpful, the sheer nature of hearing only really can hinder my learning. There were several words I pronounced and heard entirely wrong. I wouldn't have known without my wife's help. Pimsleur includes a vocabulary pdf that is suppose to follow the chapters you learn but, at least in Vietnamese, it does not and therefore creates more problems.

Rosetta Stone gives you the written out parts but it is much less conversational. Plus you are left guessing what you are learning and can sometimes guess wrong.

In both cases you are sometimes given weird words and phrases that native speakers would question. Overall they are both great tools. I find that Pimsleur has really helped expand my conversational Vietnamese whereas something like Rosetta Stone helps with my vocabulary.

If you don't have money for this I suggest the "drops" app for your phone. It's free and has a Rosetta Stone vibe. You're limited to five minutes a day for the free version but that's all you need.

Ultimately you'll reach a point where you'll need to learn grammar though. At that point you'll need a book or some other resource. Having all that vocabulary knowledge will be helpful though.

The trick is to make a daily habit of it and use what you learn.

I swear is saw it for select languages for under $100 usd. The all languages was a bit pricey. Does it cover all languages levels?

Is this site legit? I clicked on the link in the OP and AVG popped up with a "Secured Virus Threat". Maybe the SD redirect got caught?

I searched google directly and went to the StackSocial page and did a search for Rosetta and found it. The APPS30 will take 30% off, but can/does the 10% off first purchase popup stack with it? I know a few people that would love this deal.

I have bought from them in the past (password s/w, VPN), 100% legit, also I doubt the codes stack since you can only use one at checkout

Is APPS30 the best code the Stacksocial currently has? Usually around BF there is a 40% or 50% code available.
