Pretty much the best desktop deals this Black Friday so far. While there are solid deals on i7's, I really hate i7-11700K CPU's in general and 5600x just provides way better performance for the heat and power consumption. It is especially important in pre-built's like this.

Corporateperk.com offers 10% points from Employee Purchase Program, however I can't get a working coupon code to stack with it. It is still cheaper overall. I am getting $1741 on 5600x and 3080, 10% points brings it to $1567 which is $50 cheaper than non-EPP.

I will pull the trigger if I can get one more coupon code to stack, also hoping for HP to offer a more loaded configuration on Black Friday for 5600x. A bit more memory and disk space, anything!

EDIT: This isn't a repost but this comment was originally posted on the repost. They've since fixed the FP title of my post to highlight the better deal and combined the comments of both posts. Thanks SD peeps!

This is actually a repost of a deal I posted yesterday, but you wouldn't know at a glance because they completely screwed up the title when they made it front page. (It's the one with pavilion 5700g for $1026.)

My original title included a few pavilion and omen configurations, as the whole intent of it was to list several good configurations of both Pavilion and Omen with updated pricing. They made it look like a Pavilion-specific post, and highlighted one of the less popular configurations to boot. (I'm not bitter lol)

Also, I wasn't aware at the time, but others are reporting edu does work with 10gamer2021 code making this 3080 build $1566.

Should work the same way, but I don't have an EDU to very with so I'm just repeating what others have stated. Did you log in to hp.com using your .edu email and then use the 10gamer2021 code?
I did and it said that I couldn't use that code.

Possible it's been changed, or that it only works on certain ones. Is it possible your EDU is combined with an EPP? Really not sure, sorry. I only know the winter/holiday 5/10 codes don't work with EPP but work for me without logging in. I have no experience combining other codes with EDU.

Please note like Dell most of the stuff inside is proprietary so you'll unlikely be able to use it for another pc. I'm not sure if the graphics card is a one from hp design or from a graphics card vendor ie msi,evga,etc.

It's just the market for now. I mean, the msrp on a 3080 is still $700, but I imagine they're also more expensive for everyone to get and build with. If you had lots of systems popping up with 3080s for $1300-$1400 miners would buy them up even more than they already are.

This is not entirely the case with the Omen systems. The ram in this one is hyperX, nvme is WD black, and psu is coolermaster. The gpu I'm not sure, but from videos looks like a typical full size triple fan cooler on the 3080.

I can't verify personally, but I have read others and seen in some videos that the power supply and case fans are by coolermaster. One youtube video [youtube.com] with a different configurations claims that the cpu cooler is also designed by coolermaster, but I'm not sure if it's the same as the one you'll get with this 5600x build.
