Unfortunately there was memo sent out this afternoon to all bestbuy stores to validate the unlock state before processing the trade in, or it has to be with the 4 carrier on their trade-in website. This was implemented around 2:30pm PST today.

In December 2019 I bought a Galaxy S7 "locked to TracFone". Before turning on the phone, I removed the TracFone SIM and inserted my Verizon postpaid SIM, and it worked fine on Verizon. So the original question, while worded poorly, is valid. The problem is that it's impossible to answer unless someone tries it.

And if you're referring a specific trick/glitch when you asked your original question, you should have posted a link to, or description of, the trick/glitch. The previous answer, from another user, was correct: the phone is locked to Straight Talk. A possible glitch/trick, not referenced, is an unknown situation.

after reading all the comments, I'm still not understanding how u can trade in this phone at Best Buy when they only accept AT&T, TMobile, and Verizon phones, I recalled asking at the store before they said it must be from one of the following carriers, can someone please explain in details for me, I really want to get that deal. Thanks! I will give this a try and ordered 2 which should be shipped next week. I hope the Best Buy upgrade deal will still be on next week so that I can upgrade to iPhone 13 Mini for another $75. I did an upgrade test run on the BB site (line + social + text verification) and I can still upgrade my T-Mobile lines again which I already upgraded a few weeks ago.
