They are exactly same Laptop. Now for $50 more, you're getting 4 times the storage and extra 1 year warranty. So, if you can grab one from Costco, I would say, get one. In this thread, the $699 deal is actually the better deal.

Does anyone know a work around to buying gift cards to Walmart with some prepaid visa debits that I got from Xfinity deals, since you can't do multiple cards in a transaction? I tried converting them to regular gift cards with them on walmarts site and paypal only to get the transactions denied.
If you have 2 PayPal accounts, add the prepaid Visa cards to one PayPal account, then send money to your 2nd PayPal account using the prepaid visas as the payment method for the transfer. This is a quick and easy way to consolidate multiple visa gift cards into one lump sum. Then you can send the money to your bank account or use it to make purchases wherever PayPal is accepted 😁💸

I have a spare SK Hynix 1TB 2280 so i think ill just go ahead and buy the cheaper i5 11300 one, i dont see any significant speed difference between the 2 cpus.
Can anyone confirm this is a touchscreen? Would the i7 run hotter than the i5 and have less battery life?
It is touchscreen, as for power should be about the same as the TDP shows same, only difference seems to be the clock speed and cpu cache is 33% larger.
Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro 14" Touchscreen Laptop
AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600U (6-Core) Processor
14" Touchscreen 100% sRGB IPS LCD with LED-Backlit Anti-Glare (2240 x 1400) 300-Nits Display
802.11 Wireless-AC (2x2) and Bluetooth 4.1
Backlit KeyboardI was wavering between the IdeaPad 5 Pro vs Slim 7i Pro at Costco before, but it was a $200 upgrade.
Advantages I see to this i5 OP vs IdeaPad 5 Pro are:
If a person had to choose between the MacBook air M1 and this, what (as a suggestion) should he choose?
i have both m1 macbook air and costco version of this laptop (i7 + 1tb).
m1 macbook air has more neutral colored screen whereas ideapad has a bit of red hue. both are good screens though. of course, macbook has slightly better anti-reflective coating.
90hz v 60hz is not that noticeable on laptop especially when your laptop stutters even when scrolling through slickdeals =/
this laptop is a lot bulkier than macbook air by the way.
overall build quality is slightly inferior on ideapad regardless of the materials being used.
same for audio. macbook audio is louder and fuller.

After years of Windows computers, I'm currently on an M1 MacBook Air and I'm personally very happy with it. I use it for software development and it's plenty powerful for that, plus the build quality is great and everything just runs really well. The touchpad drivers on Windows laptops were always really hit or miss for me, more often misses, and I just don't have to worry about that anymore with the MacBook touchpad, which is really responsive and just behaves like I'd expect.
The battery life of the M1 Air and the lack of fan (the fan on my previous Intel MacBook Pro for work was constantly at warp speed) has been really game changing for me. I'm not sure I'd give up excellent the battery life and lack of noise and heat (at most my Mac gets just warm while I'm running multiple servers and/or worker processes) for even one of the new a MacBook Pros. Take that as you will.

Excellent price for a nice laptop. This has 2.8K display, Thunderbold 4, Aluminum built, 400 nits brightness and 100% sRGB. Ram is soldered but plenty.
I see you say this is aluminum, alhough many of the thinkbooks are plastic casing. Would that mean the hinges are stronger than those? I hear that many concerns surround that as a pain point for Lenovo, and a main reason for their warranty servicing.

Advantages I see to this i5 OP vs IdeaPad 5 Pro are:
Better build quality
Better screen (but glossy)
Better Wifi Card
Bigger battery
Thunderbolt
Better camera
Faster RAM
Cons:
256gb vs 512gb, but that's a cheap upgrade
Glossy screen (for some)
No HDMI or Card Reader
Less USB ports
