Honestly, it's not that terrible. Just very bland/boring. If you're shopping for video games on slickdeals you've probably got at least 10 better games in your backlog at any given time.

Biomutant gameplay is fun if not a little repetive. but the game constantly takes control of the camera to pan over to your objective/places of interest. And the David Attenborough copycat narrator steps in to state the obvious or wax philosophy at the same time.

I wanted to like biomutant but they made it overly complicated from the get go. It's a hack and smash. Let me button mash. I don't wanna have to swap between guns and think about it. Lemme kill and grind my skills and then kill more faster and bigger. It's fine when games try to innovate but sometimes putting it where it doesn't need it ruins your game.

Ghost of tsushima was awesome enough that the extra steps of switching stances was worth learning. When you take a mediocre game like biomutant and force a bunch of random mechanics in, you're gonna have a bad time.

Biomutant succkkkkked. I thought it looked pretty awesome, but I could not have been more wrong. It's super forgettable.

Me and the wife beat the main quest on Outriders... we had fun with it. It's a fun game to run through with 2-3 people for sure. We picked different classes and started playing through again, but ended up putting it down and didn't really ever gain reaction on it again. I'd say it's worth $10 (played it on gamepass myself)

one thing to note is that if you are playing through cooperatively, having people at mismatched levels seems to run the fun. either you have someone overleveled for the world difficulty and basically a demigod, or you're underleveled vs the world and don't do anything against the enemies at all. we played through together but adding in my brother playing with us just ended up being a little clunky since he wasn't same level as us
