This is a great tool for anything in the engine bay. The #1 setting is similar to a quarter inch impact for finesse and the #3 will take car lugs off even with the small 2amp hour battery. My only complaint is it's tough getting a socket on and off, I leave a small extension on this tool to make things easier.

This is definitely my favorite tool second to their og nonfuel electric ratchet

I have this and actually currently using it at work, very good tool and very good price, if you buy this I highly recommend getting at least a 4.0 battery or bigger to get the full 250 ft lbs of torque

The reason why is because the 1/2" sockets will generally apply more torque with heavier 1/2" sockets. In addition, the 1/2" sockets go up in range higher than the 3/8". For example, most 3/8" impact socket sets go from 8mm to 19mm. Generally small fasteners don't need high torque to remove and I would be hesitant to use high torque on them anyways. The 1/2" socket sets give you more flexibility since covers a wider range of socket sizes going up in size... they even down to 8mm if you want.

Nice. I currently have no Milwaukee anything, but have been eying this very tool. I don't really need it right away, so I can wait, but this is a good price for the tool alone. So I'm wondering if I should get this and wait for a deal on their M12 subcompact impact driver kit with batteries, charger and case, since I was eventually going to get the driver as well, wait for a deal on a kit that included this wrench, that's currently $235 at Amazon, or wait for a deal on their kit that includes both tools, batteries, charger and case, plus the compact hammer drill, that's currently $350 at HD. Or get this and buy batteries and charger separately (a case would be nice but not essential).

The only other holdup is that I first want to see DeWalt's version in their 12V line, that just recently came out. Lowes has them I believe, and on paper it's supposed to be more powerful although online tests have shown them to be around the same in real world use, with the Milwaukee possibly being more powerful in breaking fasteners.

Btw Amazon has this for $170 so it's technically only $40 cheaper.

Also, an aside, but why do they tend to show images of this tool being used with deep sockets, even for applications that don't require them, since the whole point of this tool is its compactness and lightness? Wouldn't then want to show it with shallow sockets?

Amazon isn't a certified reseller and I believe you won't get warranty through them. Also possible you'll get a fake or used/refurbished. I'm not sure how long this deal will last but with black Friday right around the corner it might be worth waiting but it seems like most retailers already have their deals posted.

Note they charge taxes. There's a similar deal at acmetools but you have to pay shipping. I double checked though and this is the better deal

This is a very good impact-wrench using the 6.0ah battery. I spent well over this for a USED one on eBay.

Add a Sunex 3/8" Impact set (#3342) & non-fuel, 3/8" m12 ratchet (2.0ah battery), and you'll have a perfect combination. Used this exact setup last week to swap a bumper on a 2500-series truck and install rock sliders. Saved at least an hour or more in labor (sweat) compared to a standard ratchet / socket set on the rock sliders alone.

So yes, Amazon isn't an authorized retailer but Milwaukee goes off manufacture date first and then if past 5yrs they'll ask for a receipt.

My understanding is that with certain other brands you're better off not buying from Amazon but with Milwaukee you still get the full warranty. In any case I'd rather get as much as I can from a B&M retailer like HD, so returns or exchanges are easier and if I need something that day I can just pick one up. So I'll probably wait to see if they offer anything comparable, or even better. My ideal deal would be the M12 drill, driver & wrench kit with 2 batteries, charger and case for well under $300, and possibly even one of those hacks where I could return one of the tools, ideally the drill as it's my least needed tool and I already have several ok ones.

Ditto on why as internally they appear to be the same tool. I have a full 3/8" impact set which would go perfectly with this. All I'd need would be a 21mm socket, an extension set and maybe a u-joint adapter. I already have a 1/2" impact but it's too heavy and big for regular use and doesn't fit in lots of spots, thus my wanting this tool, and 3/8" just seems to make more sense for that use. Every mm counts in some spots.
