A couple of advantages:

1. Upgradeable RAM
2. Full Dell thunderbolt functionality.

Yes it is "IPS".
"IPS" is a Brand Name Technically.
When Dell puts "WVA", they mean IPS.

That being Said, the Screen is your standard low-level IPS screen.
Beats TN that is about it....

Perfect. I remember now. Thanks!

Do you think it's still worth the premium?

Better processor. 11390H has turbo freq up-to 5GHz and rated up to 35W for better performance envelope.

I'm not sure it's worth the premium for most folks.
Dropping to an i5 only saves you $50, so if I was going to buy I would spend the $50.

This is a Vostro 5000 line, so it is a little better build quality than the Vostro 3000 which is entry level build.

All that being said, there are probably better deals unless this checks very specific marks for someone. I do not have a specific deal in mind....

I think I might have the $120 Amex deal. Wondering if that makes it a better deal.

Costco one has 8GB additional RAM. I was looking for personal use, dont need thunderbolt and I am not going to upgrade RAM manually.

Vostro has an i7 vs an i5...but the Swift has a better Screen by far.

i5 is likely enough for most unless you have special needs.
Everyone likes a brighter screen with more colors.

Even at the same price...I might consider the swift...
